I DO NOT SEE ANY LOOSE OR SMALL PARTS THAT CAN BE REMOVED OR CAUSE A CHOCKING HAZARD WITH THIS TOY. THE PAINT DOES APPEAR TO BE HAND PAINTED, WITH SOME BRUCH MARKS ON THE BOTTOM. I CAN NOT ATEST TO THE TYPE OF PAINT. I DO NOT KNOW THE ERA OF THE TOY, IT VERY WELL COULD BE LEAD BASE PAINT.

THE SHIP BOTTOM IS PAINTED BLACK. WHILE THE TOP IS PAINTED BATTLESHIP GRAY. THE STACKS ARE WHITE AND BLACK. SURPRISING DETAIL IN THE MOLD WITH GOLD ANCHOR AND LEAF ON THE FRONT. PORT HOLES DOWN EACH SIDE, AND CAPTAINS WINDOWS ON THE UPPER DECK. THANKS FOR LOOKING!
