2 RPM Light Duty MICRO-MOTOR KIT 1000 HRS CONTINUOUS = APPROX 42 DAYS ! Wondrous as an all-purpose CEILING TURNER For window displays, household items, etc ad infinitum
This is about as tiny as a consumer motor gets !
These are so useful, practical and fun, I almost can't
stand it.
Each motor has an on/off switch and will last an
unheard-of 30 days or more on one 'N' battery (included).
This is contingent on weight, of course...the heavier the
item, the shorter the battery duration will be. Then, too,
expect many months of use if it's being turned on and off periodically.
I have a motor and a 2 inch disco ball in a prominent
window (picture, left), so at about 4 pm everyday, when
the setting sun hits it, I'll get swirling light everywhere for
several hours, a quite impressive light effect (see the video
clip yonder, below).
The disco ball shown (sold at the store disco ball link) is about 3 ounces, so with any luck at all I've come to expect about
30 to 45 days on a battery (this is running 24 hrs a day,
see video clip below !).
Great for small 2 inch or 4 inch disco balls, crystals,
displays or any of a wide range of lightweight, fun items.
It's quite well-engineered, functional, and provides
reliable torque for a long, long time.
'N' size batteries are easy to come by incidentally
(commonly available in drugstores, or from the store link below).

They're perfect for small mirror balls, of course, but in
reality buyers have found a hundred other objects to
suspend underneath.....see a partial list below.
One very useful idea I learned recently is to suspend colorful mobiles above a baby's crib, which apparently assists brain development and spatial skills early on.
And, for the holidays....slowly turn Xmas decorations suspended from your tree, or at Easter or Halloween hang the respective decorations for those occasions as well.
It's one thing to have Shanghai lights at a party. It's quite something else to have th15048em spinning slowly like small planets.
Historical uses based on buyer feedback:
Crystals of all kinds
Advertising displays
Art objects
Store sale signs
Window displays
Disco Balls
Christmas, Halloween and Easter decorations
School displays
Theatre Props
Trade show promo items
Baby crib mobiles: turn colorful items overhead
Science fair projects
Hang kitty toys (feathers, mice, whatever)
Rotating Shanghai Lights (see picture left)
Limousines ! (you know, that disco setup in the back)
Etc., etc., restrained only by your imagination
Alan,
Here is a photo with a blue fish wind chime hooked up to the mini motor. Wow.., there
are so many uses for the mini motor !
In this pic I am just using one of those little screw-hooks into the ceiling, and attached the mini motor to that.
It is a great little gadget. I have been experimenting with it using different items to spin other than the disco ball.
Thanks,
- David N.
TESTIMONIAL REPORTS FROM ENTHUSIASTIC EARLY ADOPTERS !
Hey Alan;
For starters, decorations. I am chairing an Italian cook-off contest at our Yacht Club
later this month, I bought all this Italian stuff to decorate with and you can just hang these
motors anywhere and hang anything and don't have to worry about finding an
outlet to cause the rotation.
How about schools ??? How about theater props ? How about trade shows ? Any use I think
of I will try and then take a picture and email it. I am sure you will sell them out as soon as
people see them.
The point to emphasize, I think, is that you don't need an outlet and they are light weight.
And easy to hang. reasonable price, ease of use, reuse capabilities; my god, i could think of a
million reasons why they would sell out. If I were you I would
order more immediately. I will try different weights of stuff and hopefully find their
maximum turning weight. God, I love this kind of stuff. I am so glad we met!!!!!!

===============================================================
Hi Alan,
Yes, I would love to buy a mini motor for my disco ball. I was thinking it would also be
"GREAT" for those spinning wind ornaments or mobiles you put on your patio, porch,
in a flower garden or in any room in the house. Plus you could use them for wind chimes
made of crystal...which I have several. There would be many uses for the mini motor.
Today I received my 2" disco ball. I love it...!
The disco balls are great especially when put in a room with sunlight coming through the
window. Other items that are great with the mini motor are wind chimes, wind ornaments
that spin & other assorted mobiles.
The lighter items work best. Friends, family and well everyone thinks it is a awesome item
and idea !
Thank you.... Sincerely.

An advantage of this design is its relatively small size so
it's good looking and visually unobtrusive.
Before going with this model, I ran tests on several other
similar motors (pretty much the same design and color)
but abandoned them after a spell as I kept getting quirky rotational defects, not to mention quite low battery usage
(not good).
So, even though it costs more, I settled on this model just
for the quality and longevity.
The true test of a good motor is the sheer number of hours
you get from a battery, which pretty much means the
factory is or is not using an efficient gear and motor system.
Consequently, this is little gem is built to last and you
should get years of fun use out of it.
EACH DELUXE KIT INCLUDES :
Micro-Motor
Brand new motor; these are pretested before shipping, actually.
Though the defect rate is laughably low, possibly only 1 in 200, it'll save you having to return it if the laws of chance are less than favorable one fine day.
And, naturally, an ON/OFF switch is built in.
Comes with a hook underneath for suspending stuff, and a bracket on top for hanging the motor on a nail, screw, or suspended wire or string.
Clever Clip
These things are extremely useful all over the house, not just here; they're about .58 cents each in my store, but included free with the motor kit. This will save you from having to tie the motor to where you want it.
Hard to describe here, but they twist, turn, pivot and hang in infinitesimally diverse ways... these are one of my all-time favorite gadgets.
If you'd like to explore the 1000's of other uses, click on the picture at left to go there in a flash....they're sold in bags of 12 each.
One 'N' Battery
Comes with 'N' size heavy duty battery included... uninstalled, as it's probably a good idea to leave it out during shipping.
A quite well-designed slide-out battery holder makes battery changes a breeze, by the way.
If you want extra N batteries with your order, just click on the battery photo at left; they're quite cheap compared to typical store prices....about 1/3 the cost often as not
And voilla ....
What you see is what you get : complete assembly is shown in
picture at left
SPECIFICATIONS :
ROTATION RATE: about 2 rpm
WEIGHT: with 'N' size battery, only 1.4 ounces
SIZE: 1.5 inches high X 1.5 inches wide (diameter)
CARRYING CAPACITY : objects in the 1-5 ounce range are ideal, but items
up to about 7 ounces will be quite ok, though battery duration will be less.
DURATION: about 1000 hours continuous at room temperature; Expect less hours if the environment is cold, or you're turning heavier objects. Expect more hours duration if you get alkaline type batteries (should have them
in my Ebay store soon).
The factory rating of 1000 hrs is based on having it run nonstop
24 hrs a day, using the supplied 'heavy duty' carbon type battery.
Of course, if the motor is turned off between uses, you
could get many months of service from a battery.
And, while it's not technically waterproof, if you want to use it outside, simply cover it
with part of a plastic bag, that'll take care of that. I've used mine here in Hollywood and
forgotten to take it inside during overnight rains, yet it's still going strong.
Count on ...... SUPERSONIC, and on good days, LIGHTSPEED shipping.
"Tell the truth-it was in the mail BEFORE I ordered, right!?!.
I dont know how this is done but it arrived on Saturday."
Silly-fast shipping !!
I pressed the 'pay now' button, blinked, and this thing was in my mailbox. Wow !.
You shipping through a Post Office wormhole or something?
California to Florida in two days. Unreal.
Usually orders make it outta Mission Control here either same or next day as receipt of payment (before about 3 p.m. PST makes it out that day).
California residents expect to add sales tax at checkout for the gods of commerce here.
If you're purchasing other items, will gladly combine shipping to save you XX dollars. Request an invoice and a reduced ship rate will be conjured up.
Thanx for looking in !
