Pachypodium is a group of less than 20 species of caudiciform succulents, the majority from Madagascar and some from southern Africa. Most are shrubs, but a few will form trees, up to 6 metres tall. They are related to the genus Adenium, the main difference being the fact that their branches and trunks are covered with strong spines. The name Pachypodium comes from the Greek for 'thick foot', in relation to the fact that most species are caudiciform, and have a bottle-shaped trunk.

Pachypodium densiflorum originates from Madagascar and will grow with a base up to 1 metre in diameter and reach a height of 1.2 - 1.8 metres with age.

Wonderfully fat, multi-branched species with thick, short, silvery spines and soft, paddle-shaped leaves in warmer months.

The flowers are a deep yellow and appear on tall stalks far bove the plant in Spring.

Prefers a well drained soil with some water and some sun. Needs protection from frosts. Is very drought tolerant. Well suited to growing in pots or as a bonsai species.

For sale is a packet of 10 fresh seeds.

ALL SEED PACKAGES COME WITH A SET OF SEED PROPAGATION INSTRUCTIONS.
