Completely Invisible in normal room light ....

FLUORESCENT U.V. BLACKLIGHT PAINT
.... quickly activates with an intense glow under blacklight (UV)

7 OUNCE AEROSOL SPRAY CAN
COLOR : RED

Paint objects with an invisible clear coat, creating your own jaw-dropping visual effects.... then simply turn on a blacklight and let the fun begin... your captivated viewers, in the blink of an eye, will be quickly awed by the magically 'appearing-out-of-nowhere' light show.

ClearNeon aerosol spray is formulated to gain maximum intensity and exposure when under black light, while remaining transparent and unseen in normal room lighting.

This formula allows for detailed artwork, stencils, body painting, and more, limited only by your own rambling, wild imaginings, not to mention giving new (higher) meaning to the phrase 'paint the town' (as some artistic adventurers I know would try to do to my town here if they had enough paint and enough time).

BLACKLIGHT PAINT PROPERTIES :
ClearNeon contains advanced
Rare Earth elements (somewhat expensive and difficult to produce these days), which have the wondrous property of becoming "excited" and producing visible light colors when illuminated by ultraviolet (UV) light.

Different rare earth elements produce different colors of light when excited. This property is sometimes known as Luminescence or Fluorescence.

Note that this paint is not mere glow-in-the-dark 'Phosphorescent' paint, meaning it will not stay lit when ordinary room lights are turned off. It's sort of the reverse: it needs a blacklight and semi or total darkness to activate.

Also, this is different from regular 'fluorescent' or 'neon' paint, which are visible in both normal room light and blacklight. ClearNeon is invisible in room light, but quite bright under blacklight.

Sunlight will fade most colors and is likewise quite damaging to ClearNeon paint (it will fade it out in a few hours .... meaning there will no longer be much fluorescence), so it's important not to use it outdoors or expose it to direct sunlight.

YE GRAND GUIDELINES
A list of useful tips ......

Surfaces should be clean, of course, and free of oil or dirt...household cleaners
or alcohol work quite well for this.

Please note that some colors will appear different on
different types of porous or non-porous surfaces. Also, some colors appear
differently when used independently of each other.
Technically,
you're painting with 'light'
, not painting with paint in the classic sense,
so it's good to have your blacklight on while painting.

DO NOT APPLY MULTIPLE COATS !!
This will of course save you money:
only one coat is necessary (applying multiple coats
reduces the paint's effectiveness considerably). You do want good coverage,
but be careful to not overdo it, as it may turn slightly yellowish if applied
too heavily. It won't enhance the effect at all, and will in fact diminish the net glow.

And, as with all paint, SHAKE THE CAN WELL....if you don't, results won't be as
good as they could be otherwise.

It's extraordinarily important that you PRETEST FIRST on an
inconspicuous spot to be sure you'll be getting the results
you want, on the surface you're using. Like any paint, once
it's dry it'll be permanent unless you paint over it.

Please note that due to a formula change, the Spray version
is better for skin application
(body painting / chameleon tattoos) as the Brush-on
is difficult to get off once it dries....the spray is easier to wash off.

Neither brush-on or spray will work well on CLEAR glass or plastic, or
mirrors
....it'll appear cloudy. Colored plastic is ok, but test first anyways.

Longwave UV blacklight of 340-380 nm will work well, with 365nm being the magic frequency for maximum glow; most common household blacklights, available in stores, are longwave (as are my ebaY store blacklights, see picture link way below).

On the other hand, so-called 'party light' bulbs (like the one below) that are incandescent screw-in will NOT work at all !

Only fluorescent type bulbs can generate UV spectrum; incandescents can't, not now, not ever.... I'm somewhat mystified that promoters of these things can get away with claims that they do.

These are basically an ordinary clear light bulb painted purple, then resold for up to five dollars or more as a 'blacklight'. They give off close to zero UV, on top of which they get quite hot. They don't light up blacklght posters, for instance, even though they're sold for that purpose, and definitely won't light up UV paint. If this is the type blacklight you have, you'll need to replace it with a genuine fluorescent blacklight bulb to use this paint.

IN PASSING, A CAUTIONARY, BUT FUN BULB TALE, FROM A PAST BUYER :

I got some of your paint, turned on my black light and started painting, but it did not work. I could see just a little bit of color but not near like the pictures on your site. I tried it on everything and still it sucked. I was then told I should stop painting everything and get the correct type blacklight bulbs, noting that the paint does work and the screw in blacklight bulbs do not work with the paint.

To my surprise when I turned on a 'real' fluorescent blacklight I had paint everywhere. I had it in my ears on my face my hands on about every surface in my apartment. I just can't believe that something so invisible can appear so bright with a blacklight.

This is great stuff, I still stand there and turn on and off the lights and I am in awe.

Blacklight spectrum L.E.D.'s

Will often work, depending on their UV output.

High Output Blacklight Short Arc Lamps

Mercury Vapor and Metal Halide type lamps are quite expensive (and typically used in the movie industry etc) but are good for high output. These sources produce Visible light along with Ultraviolet light. Therefore you have to use a filter to block the Visible Light (400 - 700nm),UV-C (200-280nm) and most of the UV-B (280 - 320nm).

Filters Can Be Found Most Commonly In Two Forms:
Fresnel Type - Tinted Glass Filters: Work Well with Mercury and Halide lamps 400 W and Lower. Blocks almost all visible light.
Vacuum Thin Film Dichroic Coating Filters: Very durable, especially in high heat applications.Operating frequency can be designed to work around the Lamps operating specification. Can be used in fixtures Ranging any where from 70 watt Halide to 18K HMI and Xenon.

If you already own these types of blacklights, contact the manufacturer for specific filter recommendations.

Gentlemen, Ladies, start your blacklights, and let the fun proceed with abandon !

TYPICAL QUESTIONS
(Covers both spray and brush-on versions)

Q: Can it be applied to plastic like PVC and metal computer cases ?
A: Yes it was formulated for plastic, and works very well on all types of plastics EXCEPT CLEAR PLASTICS OR MIRRORS OR GLASS. Also try it on wires and fans.

Q: If I apply it on my walls will I see anything in daylight ? Are you sure it is clear ?
A: ClearNeon matte spray is transparent "see through" like "clear coat lacquer". It will blend in with almost every type of surface, latex or otherwise; there is no noticeable color to Clearneon.

Q: Can it be applied over Latex wall paint, and what color will blue be if applied to brown walls ? Do the walls need to be blue ?
A: ClearNeon works great on latex wall paint. The color of the wall paint will not affect the color of the ClearNeon paint.

Q: Is the spray good for body painting?
A: Yep, though only the spray, not the brush-on. The spray version dries relatively fast and is quite bright; a single can would cover roughly 2 homo sapiens. It can also be mixed with makeup if desired.

Q: Will it come off my clothes and skin ?
A: Aerosol spray can be removed via soap and water from skin, while the brush-on is more difficult. On fabrics, it's important to test on an inconspicuous spot first to see how easy it is to remove; ammonia may be required on some items.

Q: Will it come off of hard surfaces ?
A: On hard surfaces, ClearNeon aerosol spray is very durable and will not come off if it gets wet or even soap and water soaked. It only comes off with ammonia, or an ammonia cleaner like Windex. It comes down to this, it stays on until you want it off. A clear protective coat is not needed but if you want you can put any old clearcoat over it. Just make sure that the clearcoat does not have UV light blocker in it, or you just erased your art work.

Alternatively, there is now available a 'Blackout' spray which completely neutralizes the glow (also good for touchup); click on the store picture chart for this.

Q: What surfaces can it be used on ?
A: A wide variety of surfaces, including Paper, Colored Plastic, Muslin, Metal, Wood, Fabric, Foam Board, even Synthetic fur. Exceptions : ClearNeon doesn't seem to do as well on cotton or natural fibers, and not so great on clear plexi, glass or mirrors.
Also, it doesn't matter if the surface is hard (like metal) or porous (like paper). Nevertheless, as with all paint, it's a
good idea to pre-test a small surface area first to see the actual effect.

Q: Since it can't be used in sunlight, will bright stage and spotlights affect the paint ? (note that the user, directing a play, was painting over a NYC set painted to look like brick walls, and over this ClearNeon paint would be used to show up as "neon' lights)
A: Nope, no effect from regular lights at all; only sunlight will negatively affect UV paint.

Q: We want to achieve the effect of a "rundown" building (i.e dirtiness/grime) using your paint, and are trying to achieve this look in a scene change sequence for our drama ministry, but only want the effect to appear during the "dark world" segment. In other words, is it possible to achive a gray/black/dirty brown look under blacklighting using this?
A: Yep, black spray is now available, under the the title 'Invisible Eraser' in my EBay store; this is good too for painting 'eyes' on a ghost, etc.

Q: Can I use it in tattoos ?
A: Only use the aerosol spray for this. You can't of course use it to make a tatoo, but you can paint it over an existing healed tatoo and it will look really good in Blacklight. Paint a single color like blue over the entire tatoo and it's a great effect. It can also be used on temporary tatoos without affecting them at all.

Q: I am a dancer and would like to do a show with hand prints that appear only under the black stage lights. Can this work and is it safe ?
A: Yes, totally safe, and a really fun idea !

Q: I painted my dorm room with a splatter effect..it looks AWESOME but uh yeah I just did it and now the rest of the dorm wants to do it also. Can I have an exclusive, and keep them from buying this paint ?
A: No, not really !

Q: Can it be used in an inkjet printer cartridge ?
A: A great unkown; all printers are different. And, too, there's always the risk the paint could affect the nozzles of the printer, so to be safe it's probably best to not attempt it.

Q: Can it be used for banners ?
A: Yep, and no real need to worry about rolling it up once painted and dried, as the spray leaves a very fine film, which won't crack if rolled up carefully.

Q: I was wondering if you can mix the ClearNeon paints together? If I were to paint a seascape scenery, would I be able to mix blue and green together to create an ocean color??
A: Yes ClearNeon is "clear" so you can apply one color over the top of the other and get a combination of colors. So you basically have infinite color combinations. Remember that you are working with light and not pigments per se, so you might not get the color that you expect. Practice a little, it's quite easy, especially with a blacklight already on.

Q: Can the aerosol spray cans be shipped to foreign destinations, outside of the U.S. ?
A: Nuuuuu, unfortunately. Due to complex airline and governmental regulations, aerosol cans aren't allowed on planes, not even as cargo. However, the brush-on version can be shipped anywhere in the world via air.

BUYER COMMENT :
I have another use for you to add to the nifty uses you've already
listed. The reason I purchased a blacklight pen is to show off my
UV tattoo. If you'd like to look up some info on this, they are
called "chameleon ink" tattoos. It's a new hit down south. My 3
friends and I have 15 between us. Thought that'd be an
interesting bit to add to your list.

- Excited about these paints, have looked everywhere for paints that could go on a black ceiling and not stand out until the blacklight is turned on !! Should make an awesome nightscape... thank you.

- All I can say is WOW. This stuff is amazing, I used it on my PC case. Very nice.

Fast shipment. This is great stuff, worth every dollar.

We have had lots of fun getting ready for haloween with these items.

Last but not least, if you're blacklightless, there are plenty lurking in my Ebay store picture link below.

It's basicaly 11.70 for insured shipping via UPS for 1 ALL THE WAY UP TO 12 CANS (so, basically, the first can costs 11.70 to ship, and the next 11 cans ship free). Shipping is usually same or next day as receipt of funds (not counting some weekends). UPS ground Is somewhat slower than I'd like, but due to airline regulations, aerosols can't go via air, so that takes care of that.
And, it'll be shipped direct from the factory. Allow anwhere from 2-5 days typical transit time, depending on where in the U.S. you're located.

California residents expect to add 7.25% sales tax at checkout for the gods of commerce here.
NO FOREIGN SHIPMENTS OF SPRAY PAINT (since they can't go via air) !
Same goes for Alaska and Hawaii, as it's the same problemo of air delivery.

Major apologies on that, but as explained above, airline regulations pretty much nix that idea; however, the Brush-On colors can be shipped outside of the U.S. quite easily; see the Brush-On chart link above.

Thanx for looking in !
