CARVED WOOD DOLL, PUPPET OR TOY
There must be a story behind this guy, but no idea what it is.....?? He is crude and old
17" Carved wood head seems to be hand carved; very nice cloth body seems to possibly be factory made...? Lips, eyes and nose are 'grooved' for a dimensional look. Old cotton body may be stuffed with sawdust - or maybe sand. Jointed at elbow, shoulders, hips, knees - maybe he was a marionette??? Sorry - more questions than answers on this item
Painted features. Very arched and almost demonic looking brows and squinted eyes. Yellow floss hair is glued on. It is wearing a very old green china silk one-piece outfit -- similar to clown - outfit is VERY frail and frayed - AS IS
