Look at the details!!
Buildings (now torn down) can be clearly seen
on both sides and behind Cathay Building.
On right is a big sign for "Firestone Tyres"
and there is also a "Paris Bar".
Is "Everyday's A Holiday" showing at the cinema?
Or is that a logo for the old Cathay?
Amazing!!
Text on back of card:
"Cathay Building, Singapore.
(It) is situated at Dhoby Ghaut and has 15 floors,
comprising a cinema hall, bar, Chinese and foreign restaurant, and a
hotel etc.
It was formerly the South (East) Asia Allied Military
Headquarters
and once (was) used by the famous Radio Malaya."
Interesting Note: Card was printed in Germany!
