Hello, welcome to the Vintage Inventory House by me JT and my Malaysian partner Alicia. Alicia is an avid vintage jewelry collector. Due to hygienic reasons, she doesn't buy any vintage jewelry that has been previously owned by antique shops. Sometimes jewelry from an antique shop can be very costly in Malaysia, therefore most of her collection comes from the source of her American friend whose parents ran a successful jewelry business for many years, and then eventually retired and in the process left a lot of unsold inventory.

The reason we decided to take a chance on this partnership, is mainly due to the fact that so many of Alicia's friends find her fashion sense so unique, they constantly inquire about her rings, necklaces, pendants and other interesting vintage accessories. But what I have noticed is that the vintage fashion trend that is so popular in the US has only made it to Asia in a very limited way. Vintage accessories are actually very unique and rare. Some of the vintages accessories such as sweater guards and shoe clips that we are selling are items that are no longer made.

I have spent half a year here in the United States to source for unique items to get ready for our business. Our items are usually obtained from businesses that have closed, retired jewelers or from our friends' vintage jewelry stores. We really appreciate all the help given by our friends who have been in the vintage jewelry business for many years.

We sell two categories of vintage items. The first category is the metal pieces of jewelry that are very rare and unique designs that cater to collectors who love the "old English" style of jewelry. The second category is the plastic or wooden pieces of jewelry that are more common for every day wear. Since they are new old stock items that have been in storage for years, they are very valuable for collection.

Old jewelry is expected to have patina resulting from natural aging due to wear and oxidation. We usually don't polish our items when we list them because the value of the piece may decrease if the patina is cleaned off. Collectors love the natural oxidation that occurs on many vintage items; this adds a certain mystique and also serves as proof of the relative age of the item, which in turn certifies its value.
