VTG 1950s B/O Doll House TIN TOY WASHING MACHINE Works!

Here is a very rare battery operated dollhouse washing machine made of tin enamelware construction with a red plastic agitator inside a chrome wash basin inside the flip lid. The brand name on the front is PLAYTAG, an obvious pun on MAYTAG, which was famous for its appliances. This is the PRINCESS madel and has red litho for the dials on the back (under the stickers, which I removed after photographing and which are, like the rest of the lithos, perfect), the logo on the front, and the ON/OFF above and below the switch on the side the operates the motor inside. When the flip is switched on, the motor agitates the red plastic agitator inside the machine. If filled with soapy water, this machine can actually wash doll clothes and has a tubing at the back to reycle the water and make it seem like it is actually filling and emptying. Also int eh back of the unit is the battery compartment which is fresh and clean. In fact, the machine hardly looks played with. Theere is NO rusting or corrosion at all -- inner lid is fine and NOT RUSTED though it looks a little like it in the poicture -- this is simply the look of the tin. The entire machine is about a c9 and operates perfectly. The back has the marker's mane engraved beside water tube: A. ROWLEY TOOL & ENGR. CO. GREEN LAKE, WIS. PAT. PENDING. This is a fully USA made toy that you sure don't see very often and certainly not in this fine condiiton. This is one for the books for sure. Really solid and well made old toy stands 9" trall and 6" wide and deep. Weighs nearly 4 pounds, to give you an idea how solid this little piece really is. Awesome addition to any play set or doll house kitchen!
