THIS IS A VINTAGE STERLING ENAMELED SNUFF OR PATCH BOX  IT IS ENAMELED  ON THE TOP AND  BOTTOM AND  THE  SIDES AS WELL  THE ENAMEL BASE COLOR IS  SHINY BLACK  WITH  GOLD AN TURQUOISE  DECORATIVE MOTIFS IN THE  CORNERS AND  IN THE  CENTER  OF THE TOP LID. ALL THE EDGES ARE ALSO BORDERED IN GOLD.  THE  BOX WEIGHS 111.00 GRAMS AND THE MEASUREMENTS ARE  2 INCHES  7/8 WIDTH  2 INCHES IN HEIGHT AND 1/2 INCH IN  DEPTH.  INSIDE  BOTH THE TOP AND  BOTTOM LID ARE THE STAMPS   239  STERLING  A SIDEWAYS 6  AND A  MAKERS MARK i  DO NOT  RECOGNIZE. THE INSIDE IS  GOLD WASHED.   THERE  ARE  VERY FINE  SURFACES  SCRATCHES MOSTLY ON THE BOTTOM WHERE IT WAS PLACED ON SURFACES.. A GOD POLISHING WILL REVIVE THE BOX  COMPLETELY !
