Very good condition. Never used. Comes with its own storage pouch & instruction manual. No batteries included. From one USB device to another - minus the need to go through a computer - this nifty palm-sized gadget is good for transferring files It used to be that folks who wanted to transfer data from one universal serial bus (USB) device to another, say, a flash drive to an MP3 player, had to copy the data first to a computer. The EZ-Tranzfer is a device that takes the computer out of the equation. It allows direct copying of files between USB devices, including digital cameras, MP3 players and portable hard disks. Design: The light (abt 70g), dark-grey device fits into your palm and runs on three AAA batteries. To use it, simply plug the source and target USB devices into the EZ-Tranzfer and press the Transfer button. A green blip lights up when the EZ-Tranzfer is switched on and a red one flashes as data is being copied from the source to the target USB device. You can transfer everything from the source, or just a single folder - simply toggle a switch on the device to specify the transfer option.
The EZ-Tranzfer will work with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 devices, though it transfers at USB 1.1 speeds. It supports the file allocation table system (FAT) that keeps track of where data is stored, so take note if your portable hard disk is formatted in the NT file system (NTFS) for Windows NT, 2000 or XP or Mac OS file systems. Transferring 100MB of files between two thumb drives took 4min 40sec - similar to the speed of transferring the same files from a USB?1.1 card reader to a PC. Battery life is rated at around five hours. Despite the slower USB 1.1 speed, the EZ-Tranzfer offers a nifty way of sending files directly from one USB device to another. |
