Song Dynasty green glazed shipwreck bowl. Plain Exterior. Combed decration of Lotus flower and leaf on cavetto with a swirl in the well to the interior.
Diameter 18.6cm. Height 7cm.
Some damage: three chips and some fritting to the rim and manufacuring defect in the form of a small blowhole passing through the side of the bowl; along with kiln git attaching to well of the bowl and a speck on the exterior. Lustrous glaze retaining its sheen and atractively crazied throughout. Overall not in so poor condition for an 800 year old artefact which was immersed in the sea for much of that time.
