This is how it works: Dell Mini 9 is easy to open up underneath, take out the old SSD and put in the new one. After XP is reinstalled on the new fast SSD you just install the included software driver and your new Dell Mini 9 will be rocket fast!!!

With Asus eeePC 901 you will have to open up the computer to get to the "hidden" SSD which is the 4GB C-drive. When doing this you will have to break the warranty seal which means the warranty will be void. Once open it is quite easy to unscrew the old C-drive and exchange it with this fast new 16 GB drive giving you a lot more storage on the C-drive. You will also keep the old D-drive. After XP is reinstalled on the new fast SSD you install the included software driver and your new Asus eeePC 901 will be rocket fast!!!

When using CrystalDiskMark 2.2 which is an SSD benchmark program I got 0.069 MB/s in the 4kB random write test on the old SSD. When upgraded to this new SSD with the Speed Software Driver installed I got 7.235 MB/s when doing the same 4kB random write test (see picture). That means this upgrade is about 100 times faster than the original SSD.

You get a bigger drive, 16GB, that is up to 100 x faster than the original drive when it comes to 4kB random write. This is the best test for checking the overall speed in Windows XP. You will feel a big difference when working in XP when it comes to starting up programs or working with many programs simultaniously. There will be no waiting around for the SSD to finish writing data.

The Speed Software Driver that is included for free with this auction does not support hibernation in XP so you will have to disable this function to avoid any data corruption or data loss. The driver is only available for Windows XP so you will not be able to use this software with any other operating system.

The SSD will be shipped from Sweden or the UK as soon as possible after payments have been received and cleared through PayPal. The Speed Software Driver for XP that comes free of charge with this auction will be e-mailed to the buyer with instructions on how to install it.
