About Us
When viewing artworks in exhibitions and from various media, many of us
may see no real connection between the works of art and ourselves. This
is how The Sincere Art was started. Our mission is to create works of
art which individuals and its respective communities can relate closely
to. We believe in giving life to memories through works of art and
leaving behind a legacy for our future generations.
We are an internet only business. As one of our customers, or
prospective customers, you are more than welcome to email us at
thesincereart@gmail.com
on your questions. You will come into contact with me, who manages the
business as well as being an artist. Be assured that you will have
only one point of contact throughout your communication with us.
Thank you very much for visiting our site and we hope that you like our
works. If you are interested in any of our works and would like to find
out more, we would be happy to assist. To find out more about me

Artist's
Statement
You are looking at a pencil portrait drawing of Korean artiste Lee Young Ae. In "Daejanggeum", or Jewel in the Palace, Lee Young Ae played Jang-Geum, a court lady working in the royal kitchen. Through her intelligence, determination and perserverance, she overcame all odds and became the first female royal physician in history to serve the king. This image is sourced from MBC.
I started
on this series of Korean artistes’ portraits after watching Korean
dramas. Amidst the attractive faces and latest fashion apparels, I love
to learn about the Korean culture and moral values that are often
conveyed by the characters in the drama. It is my wish to illustrate
Korean cultures and moral values through this series of portrait
collection of characters in some popular Korean dramas.
The
characters in the dramas are the models of my portraits. The pictures of
the characters are sourced from the official website of the drama (if
available) and from various others channels. Based on my interpretation
of the visual techniques used in the pictures, I draw the portraits by
hand. For each of my work in this series, I always strive to give credit
to the source of my inspiration.
The
portraits are drawn on A3 size paper using wood-cased graphite pencils.
I have used pencils and paper, which is made of carbon and wood pulp
respectively, to symbolise the essential role played by cultures and
moral values in our society. The grey tones produced by pencils
represent the practise of these cultures and moral values at different
levels in the society.

Colour Accuracy
|
The colours and
tonal values you see on your computer monitors may not be exactly
the same as the real artwork. Please note that this problem
is a technical one, caused by differences in how computer
monitors, web browsers, computer operating systems and software
programs display colours. I have, to my best effort, ensured
that the colours of my artworks published here are the closest
possible to the actual one.
