Set of 8 placemats with matching runner, fabulous textile!

Stunning restrained set of placemats and matching runner. Off-white silvery looking textile that is a combination of silk and linen, quite rare, and nothing like the combinations of cotton and rayon that have copied this amazing fabric over the years. Hems are by hand. Runner has two impressive huge hand sewn monograms with the letters LKW in Art Deco styling, set is doubtless early 1900s. We have sold over the past year several cloths and sets from this fine textile, in various colors, pink, white, cream, and gray. All were from the same estate through a local dealer. Unfortunately, they were offered piecemeal, so the napkins, and other pieces were often separated. Only a few months ago the napkins for this set were sold separately, so no napkins here, but the mats and runner can stand as a set and will blend with other linens, especially in a soft color, would be beautiful. Extremely impressive set that shows elegance and good taste, glowing for the holidays and years to come.

Measurements: Mats measure 11x17", runner is 17x44". Monogram is 3 x 4 1/2".

Condition: Some use evident in one or two marks, should come right out. One monogram has a tiny fray, can be fixed with needle and thread, not an indication of wear, just a couple of threads up in the satin stitching.
