This popular Japanese Anime was released in Japan in 1965-1966 and aired in Melbourne, Australia in March 1967 on Channel 9 at 5:00pm weekdays. It last appeared on TV in March 1972 on Daryl Somers' Cartoon Corner.

 

A phenomenal pioneering black & white Japanese cartoon show, it was in the style that would later become popular with shows like Kimba, Speed Racer, Astro Boy and Marine Boy.

 

The hero was a member of the non-violent Universal Peace Corps who left his home turf of Radion to crash-land on Earth. Here he adopted the Earthly name of Bobby, and befriended young Earth girl Diana Worthy.

 

His mission was to bring our planet into his beloved Corps, but first he had to rid the world of all violent evil-doers, which he accomplished with the use of his power-giving pendant, which frequently ran out of energy thus placing him in enough danger to keep the excitement levels up from episode to episode.
