About Heroes of Might and Magic V Editions - The HoMM5 series has the original game (Heroes of Might and Magic V), an expansion (Hammers of Fate), and a standalone expansion (Tribes of the East). The base game and Hammers of Fate are contained in the Heroes of Might and Magic V Silver Edition. All three titles, as well as a Bonus DVD, are contained in the Heroes of Might and Magic V Gold Edition.
Developed by Nival Interactive, the largest development studio in Eastern Europe and creators of such hits as Heroes of Might and Magic V, Blitzkrieg 2 and Etherlords.
The Might and Magic series was created by Jon Van Caneghem, with the first game released in 1986. It is considered one of the defining examples of early RPGs, along with Ultima, Bard’s Tale and Wizardry. The Heroes of Might and Magic series of turn-based strategy games was spun off, with its first game released in 1995, and includes such popular hits as Heroes of Might and Magic IV and Heroes of Might and Magic V.
