Phosphatidyl Serine (PS) is like the superintendent of the brain. It is actively involved in the repair and maintenance of the cellular structure in neurons and the nervous system. Its benefits include memory improvement, enhanced learning, greater attention span and alleviation of Alzheimer’s symptoms. PS also improves the body’s response to stress, and subsequently protects against brain cells damage caused by increased cortisol (stress hormones) level.

Receptors on brain cell connection sites allow neurons to talk to each other. The more connections and dendrites a nerve cell has, the greater its capacity for transmitting messages and processing information. This translates to better memory and heightened intelligence. However, many factors can lead to a reduction in the NGF receptors and the deterioration of dendritic connections. 1. How many capsules should I take?
In general, 1 capsule 2-3 times daily would be sufficient. In cases of individuals with more severe memory problems, it is recommended to start with 4 capsules daily. Continue with this dosage for 2 months, then, the dosage can be maintained or reduced if desire. Long-term consumption at high dose will not cause any adverse effects.

While it is true that PC, PS and Acetyl-L-Carnitine can be found in various foods from our diet, it is hardly possible for us to consume enough to obtain the needed amount for their documented benefits.
