Photographs can barely do justice to the fierce elegance of this retired Beast of Ignorance Pin by Mignon Faget in .925 sterling silver. (Click to enlarge the photos shown here.) The snarling curly-coated beast motif was inspired by a Romanesque library carving.

Internationally reknowned designer Mignon Faget of New Orleans has never abandoned her Louisiana roots. Since 1969, she has been crafting original creations inspired by the natural and manmade landmarks of her home state. She is justly famed for the naturalistic and architectural qualities of her work. It is said that every New Orleans lady owns a piece by Mignon Faget, a personal adornment as central to a lady's wardrobe in the Crescent City as a piece from Tiffany & Co. would be in New York City.

This is an original Mignon Faget design such as only the master jeweler could create. Quality and beauty of workmanship are evident from every angle of this exceptionally handsome pin, which bears the signature hallmark © Mf on its back side. It measures approximately 1 inch high by 2-1/8 inches wide. The pinback is in perfect working order. The design is retired, so it is no longer available through Mignon Faget.
