Meet the jolly couple, Mary and Degu, and the wacky people living in the neighborhood. Born on Christmas, the chirpy aspiring musical performer, Mary is just like her name - always merry and kind. She soon finds it hard to be happy after meeting her new neighbor Kang Dae Gu, a failed martial arts novelist with a laidback exterior but stubborn personality. The two can't seem to stop fighting and bickering every time they see each other. However through all the bickering, they soon develop feelings for each other. Mary and Dae Gu also manage to attract some odd suitors in the form of obsessively upright school teacher Seon Do Jin and Paris Hilton-wannabe Lee So Ran.
