  Built with the finest materials, in wood and epoxy construction The model measures just over 15 inches in length, and sports a running Mercury KG7 toy outboard motor. The motor runs very well, and is designed and wired for a 9 volt battery. It has working thumb screws, clamps, and steers both left & right. Kainer steering wheel and Keller racing throttle are the same as the original boats had, even down to the color. Model has not been water tested, that will be up to the new owner to decide or just display it, either way it's very nice ( and colorful ) piece for any toy outboard, or Mercury racing collection. Cardboard stand in photos is not included. Boat and motor will be carefully packaged to arrive safely and will be automatically insured and with tracking. Shipping to the 48 States is $20.00 Canada $24.00 A bit about the real boats... These boats were specially built for Mercury showcase races at Cypress gardens. Six boats would normally run together, all painted different in crazy colors. They were fashioned after the 1931 Century Hurricane race boats, and most of them were built without the step in the hull, and some with. They were wood over a frame, and had canvas decks. In later years the Century's were replaced by 10 foot B-class Speedliner runabouts. Both types of boats had to take a lot of abuse during the races...jumping over ramps, and sliding over small points of land, crashing down with hard landings that were not always very pretty. The drivers must have been a brave bunch to put on such a show with the minimal safety gear of the day.
