Up for auction is 1 set of 5 pieces Japanese Occupation World War II 10 Rupees. These Japanese invasion monies (JIM) were used in Burma from 1942-1944; with red code letters BA and are in uncirculated (UNC) condition.
While the Japanese military administration dated 1 May 1942 decreed that Japanese military dollars issued in Malaya (banana notes) would be legal tender in Burma, the Japanese military rupee (BUG) were also introduced for circulation. The exchange rate then was about 1 Japanese military rupee = 4 Burmese Indian rupees. Nice Japanese WWII military monies for worldwide historic and numismatics collectors!
