Ice Spar (Iceland Spar) Calcite. (C2)

This mineral become popular because it displays an optical illusion (double refraction), when you look through the crystal, it splits the light rays into two, producing a double image. You have to rotate the crystal to certain angle to get the result. And also for the unique shape, we call it offset-rectangular. Calcite is mined throughout the world, this piece is from China. Calcite is said to be used to stimulates the Fire Element to assist in moving blocked energy through the charkas in crystal healing. Some other healing property include reduces tension, heals the eyes, relief for migraine headaches, etc.. This specimen measure about 51 X 75 X 36 mm and has a weight of about 196.4 grams.
