Mercy Relief presents to you Panda Sun Sun, our humanitarian bear.

Mercy Relief’s Goodwill Ambassador Stefanie Sun, launched Panda Sun Sun at rural Anyue county in Sichuan* on 13 January 2009 in conjunction with the completion of our reconstruction and developmental projects in China.

We named the Panda, a symbol of peace in China, Sun Sun to symbolise the warmth of Singapore’s friendship and also in reference to our Goodwill Ambassador, Stefanie Sun who played a crucial role in our relief efforts in Sichuan province. Going forward from the Wenchuan Earthquake, Mercy Relief is now selling Panda Sun Sun to help expand our International Development projects in China and the ASEAN region.

Priced at S$38.00 nett, all proceeds from the sale will go towards supporting Mercy Relief’s new international development programme in Asia aimed at improving the livelihoods of the poor, building rural capacities and alleviating poverty in the region.

Sun Sun dons Mercy Relief’s operations vest, cap and boots, together with Stefanie’s photograph taken at Dujiangyan relief camp just after the Wenchuan earthquake. The photograph comes attached with Stefanie’s personal humanitarian message and signature to encourage and inspire the proud owner of Sun Sun.

The 5,000 limited edition bears will be available for sale to the public at Mercy Relief office and various distribution partners.
