Golf - Ping Karsten Putter J Blade Beryllium Copper

On auction is an original classic Ping Karsten J-Blade Putter in excellent condition. Made in Phoenix AZ, USA. The tarnished putter-head are made from heat treated Beryllium Copper. This material, used in the aerospace industry will darken with age. It provides an unmatched soft feel while making a bold statement on the green. Presently, the BeCu copper irons are no longer available from ‘Ping’ for environmental reasons. And therefore this putter it is very rare and seldom seen on Ebay in this condition. They were only made for a short time and you just don't see new ones anymore... It is definitely a must have for Ping’s collectors.

A right-handed putter. 34.5"inch in length. Installed with Ping Heel-Toe Balance shaft and Winn AVS Ping Putter grip. As for the condition, putter face, head and sole are excellent. Only two tiny shallow dings can be found on the hosel but both are less than 1mm diameter and I think it’s negligible or not obvious at all. Very good condition for the shaft and grip. A like-new-condition Mac Burrows golf headcover is included. I had pasted white weatherproof strips stickers on the putter head as guides but can be removed easily without leaving any marks. Well, it’s up to you to leave it there or to remove it.

Tour pros are very particular about the appearance of their putter. They may like it shiny or dull, or even want it to look old like the vintage putter.  Many players had putters that they had used for years that had a rich patina that doesn't glare. They were used to the look and finish.  So this J-Blade Ping Putter had developed a very beautiful patina that doesn’t glare. I read that if you want a shiny finished putter head, you can dip it in Coca-Cola or Pepsi to remove the patina (not sure how true is it…). But I would say that over the years, darken patina will make it a very beautiful putter.
