not sure about the tint of this product as i haven't used 'pure' silk dust. it does not leave a white cast nor a noticeable tint on my skin. following another review, i put this on after my moisturiser has soaked in (or before that when i'm in a hurry) but before my EM foundation. it helps keep the oilies away!! and smoother application of the foundation. though for total oil prevention use in combination with finishing powder.
this has not irritated by acne-prone skin!!

I love this product. I use it as a primer powder, after concealer, before my foundation. I don't need to refinish the foundation with another layer of powder (using Matte or Intensive formulas in EM) and this really controls oilies all day. I have been testing it in warmer weather this week, and I was out in San Bernadino today and it was well into the high 80s today and I was in the bright sun for most of the day; no touchups from 9am to 8pm and I wasn't really oily at all. I was amazed. This, in combination with the Intensive or Matte formulas, and the Intensive Concealer, is a wonderful thing for my oily skin. If I should require a touchup, it would only be a quick blot, but I didn't need to do that today and I am VERY surprised. With Studiofix I am blottting after 3-4 hours indoors at my desk! I am liking this more than my Fyrinnae Rice Powder primer. I also think this is a better looking product, does not leave a whitish cast on my skin nor does it effect the color of my foundation; in fact it provides a little bit of coverage and I can actually wear just the Intensive Medium Concealer + this, if I want to give my skin a break, or I'm having a really good skin day. The texture of this powder doesn't feel grainy/gritty to me

The only area on my face that I need oil control is the t-zone; however, when it gets super oily, its gross. I tried the original silk dust and it left a white cast on my skin, so I decided to try this tinted version. I love it. I lightly dust a bit of this under my foundation, and over if I want to set it better, and it keeps me matte all day. Some days I don't have to blot at all, others I have to blot once hours after application - I used to use blotting papers constantly. I definitely recommend applying this with a light hand, but you don't need much for the product to work. I should mention I have very sensitive, acne-prone skin and nothing in the EM line has made me breakout

Started using this today. Right away I like it more than the mineral veil from BE. This goes on very smooth and leaves no shine at all. I dont think it added any color, just didnt appear white.and blended well. I read other reviews that some found this grainy but I found it to be very thin and easy to apply. Really does help set the foundation and give more of an airbrushed look.
