Beautiful Die Cast Mercury Space Capsule, Friendship 7 John Glenn

This is a mint condition, beautiful small scale die cast Mercury space capsule from Mattel. This one is Friendship 7, which was the ship that John Glenn orbited the Earth in, after being launched by an Atlas rocket. It's very detailed and has an added window to see the astronaut inside. My favorite part is the retro rocket pack, the silver portion used to slow the capsule down before reentry, then jettisoned to expose the heat shield. It's mostly die cast metal, with some plastic parts. 

This diecast is a hair over 2 and 1/2 inches tall. This is a really great version of this historic spacecraft!
