Chinese Southern Song Dynasty (AD1127-1279) 1-cash coin

Complete set of Shao Ding Tong Bao 1-cash

with year name 1-6, on reverse top, 24mm, VF

Background

Issued under rule of emperor Li Zong during Shao Ding period.

Starting from 7th year of Chun Xi period (AD1180), The emperor ordered to add

a number on reverse of the coins to indicate the year of reign title in which the

coins was cast. All the AE issues afterwards are with year number on reverse

until the fall of the Southern Sung dynasty.
