from Java, Indonesia

Mainly from Song (AD960-1279) and Tang (AD618 -907) dynasties.

Many types, 23- 25mm. VF

Background

In ancient, Merchants from China, Vietnam, Japan and Ryukyu islands use huge junks to bring

in cash coins in exchange of spices and rice with Javanese people. Sometimes,

large hoard of Chinese coins are discovered at construction site or river-bed in Indonesia.
