If your engine has FLEDGLING Big End Knock which is a heavy tapping from the bottom of the engine, that goes away when the engine is warm (slightly worn main bearings or con rod bearings), due to low oil causing premature bottom end wear, Restore can probably fix it, or your money back providing you involve us, and your local mechanic at every step of the way (have your mechanic call us on his mobile so we can hear the engine noise, before and after the RESTORE treatment, so we can confirm what the problem is, and if RESTORE has a chance to fix it).

NOTE: If the shell bearings are so worn that they have rotated on the crankshaft and the engine sounds like a hammer on a steel plate at all engine speeds, then RESTORE will NOT be able to fix it and the sump and con rod end caps and shell bearings will have to be removed to see how much scratching and damage there is on the crankshaft journals. If the crankshaft journals are scratched it will have to come out for regrinding during a complete engine rebuild. However trying RESTORE makes good sense for only £14.97 particularly with the money back guarantee through your mechanic.
If the engine is too far gone, then depending on the age of the vehicle, a good take-out engine swap will probably be the cheapest and best solution for an older vehicle that has good body work (no rust). Call us in any case to discuss on UK 01394 675317 M-F 10am-2pm

Have tried using lots of oil treatments with small if any differnce ,
Bought 12 tins RESTORE to put in a LANDROVER 300 TDI 168000 miles within 120 miles gained 11 MPH on top speed ,
Put another tin in a VAUXHALL CORSA 1.5TD gained 8 MPH on top speed and gets there a lot easer,
Put 6 tins in 2 FORD 2700 series boat engines reduced smoking and easer to start

Hi, just wanted to let you know that I'm REALLY impressed with this product. I took my poorly 2 stroke outboard for a service. It was not well. The dealer said that the bores were badly scored and that one of them was down 20% on compression. I tried engine restore on it this Saturday. Unbelievable! The unit now starts (big improvement) but actually seems to run better than I can ever remember it having done. I'll be back to you for some more for my cars.Good feeback left on Ebay. I have an 92 Astra GSI with a 190,000 miles on the clock on hard acceleration the car smoked quite badly, but after one treatment with Engine Restore it has totally cured the problem.

Hi,Just a note to say I purchased 1ltr of this magic substance for my Landrover Discovery 3.9efi and IT WORKS the engine is quieter,more lively I am always VERY sceptical of these "MAGIC POTIONS" where the manufacurer claims all sorts of things. But I have to say that with this product "It does what it says on the can" to quote a phrase. A question can I add a little to the front and rear differentials and the transfer box? I added a small can (probably too small in hind-sight) to my 1.9l Diesel

Fiat Duplo Van that had an apparently reconditioned engine 25K miles ago-  & what a difference!

I was expecting it to make little or not difference, but, it did the following:

½ The ‘Rattle’ at low speed

Better acceleration

Sounds ‘happy now at 70Mph instead of 60Mph

Less smoke

Much better economy

Really – totally amazing -Not cheap, but worth it.

Hi, I have used your product in two of my vehicles, my Mercedes Van 308 sounded like a bag of nails, now you wouldn't think it's the same van! I've also put it in my Lexus LS400, it was pretty quiet to start with, but now you can't hear if it's running. I'm hoping it will make the same miracles on my Renault 19 TD. Hi, I bought some Engine Restore from you a few weeks back for my 1990 Mecedes 190e. The car had been to a workshop and I was told that I was losing oil that was getting past the rings and building up pressure.I thought the worst but I had seen your product on Ebay so thought I would give it a try. So, if you have some mechanical ability read how RESTORE can keep your 2 stroke in tip top shape...
  VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
Restore is not formulated for use in, or as, a 2 stroke engine petrol/oil mix!
i.e. You must NOT put RESTORE into 2 stroke petrol/oil to be combusted in the engine !
 {please read on:.....}
However, if you have some mechanical ability and can remove a spark plug you can bring a dying 2 stroke back to life providing the engine is just worn and piston rings etc not broken. Shake up a can of RESTORE to agitate the CSL particles and remove the spark plug from a cool or cold engine. Pour a teaspoonful of RESTORE into the spark plug hole using a small disposable funnel. Allow the RESTORE to settle around the rings and down the side of the piston for a few moments. Put an old cloth over the spark plug hole to catch any splashes from oil that may be ejected (ie mind your eyes!), and gently turn the engine over using gentle taps on the electric starter or foot crank or the rope pull. Do this several times and repeat several times until the RESTORE oil is no longer being splashed or ejected from the plug hole. RESTORE is already starting to repair the cylinder scratches! The situation to avoid is a hydraulic lock (that might bend the con rod) once the spark plug is replaced and the engine started.
 You can however put half a can AMETECH RESTORE into the SEPARATE oil resevoir on a modern 2stroke though. What can you expect?:  You will experience a dramatic increase in ease of starting, and power will go through the roof, with better fuel consumption, and lower smoke levels. All without dissassembling the engine.
 
I DO REPEAT THOUGH that RESTORE must not be mixed into the old fashioned 2 stroke petrol/oil mix as it contains CSL copper silver lead granules that should not be in the combustion cycle and may block the carb jets.. You can put half a can AMETECH RESTORE into the SEPARATE oil resevoir on a modern 2stroke though. Please let us know your 2 stroke AMETECH ENGINE RESTORE OIL story. Call me if you are not sure about anything. 2 stroke RESTORE application is very different from 4 stroke RESTORE application!

The RESTORE is the same product for 4stroke and for 2stroke but it is applied differently:
4stroke application RESTORE is simply poured into the engine oil as a top up.
2stroke application RESTORE is simply introduced a teaspoon at a time into the spark plug hole and the engine is slowly turned over until the RESTORE works it's way around the piston and rings.....

Hi Dave. I purchased the Engine-Restore for 2 strokes from you recently. I have used it in a Suzuki SB200 and Suzuki GT250 X7. Both bikes ran immediately smoother with a noticeable increase in power. I followed the instructions using a teaspoonful per cylinder. Please can you advise whether the treatment needs to be regularly repeated? The reason I ask is when the Engine- Restore is used in a four stroke engine it stays in the engine oil and presumably continues to work as soon as any wear shows up - with the 2 stroke it is a one off treatment. Yes, it is a permanent repair to the bores and piston rings and then the wear starts again.....as normal. Perhaps you could keep an eye on your mileage and give us some feedback?

Hello Dave, Just a quick note to say how pleased I am with the results acheived with your engine restore oil. One week ago, on hard acceleration, I would not be able to see the car behind for smoke, my car would splutter and it was not very smooth at all (sometimes thought it was a kangaroo). Now, after using engine restore, (about 180 miles driven so far), things are so much more different: Much less smoke; faster, smoother acceleration; and less engine noise. The car in question is a 37 year old Jag.

My other car, a Frontera, did not have a smoke or rough running problem, but was noisy and very sluggish. After putting in the engine restore oil, the reduction in noise was apparent within the first 20 miles!! Also, believe it or not, the Frontera also accelerates quicker than it did before. Three different garages have attempted to improve the acceleration but each have said the engine compression was fine and the car was tuned correctly , "it must just be a slow car". We all know 4X4's are not the quickest of vehicles, but when a Morris Minor could pull away from the lights and keep up with me I knew something was not quite right.

Not so now! For the first time since owning the Frontera it has started to accelerate up hills that, until now, it was all it could do to maintain the same speed. Judging by the amount of miles travelled on the fuel that was in the tank, it would appear that the MPG has increased as well. I will calculate the fuel consumption this week and let you know of the results. For reference, at the last check the Frontera was getting approx 29.5 MPG only if I drove very sedately.

Hi Dave, Whilst on vacation in Florida last year (June 2002) I purchased a tin of Engine Restore. When I got home I serviced my car (Nissan Micra 1986) changed the oil etc and added the Ametech Engine Restore. Well nothing happened in the short term, it is only lately that I have noticed a marked difference. The engine used to sound a bit like a stone rattling in an empty can with noticeable piston slap. Now it is considerably quieter and the piston slap has all but disappeared. I have not done anything to the car since last June so I can only attribute this to the Ametech Engine Restore. I know this seems strange that the product has taken 7/8 months to work but I am putting this down to the fact that my annual mileage is about 2.5 to 3k consisting of a 2 mile trip to the rail station daily and the odd 2/3 mile trip to the shops. The cars is 15 years old has had several owners and could have done any sort of mileage to what is showing on the clock (approx 50k). Well its time for another service and I want to use the product again, the only problem is that I can't find it for sale in England, there are contact addresses on the USA Engine Restore web site and trying several companies that are on Restores web site they do not ship outside of the US. So searching through the web I found you and wondered if you could help me with the address of Engine Restore UK to see if they can sell to me direct or to point me to a supplier in the UK or who can ship to England. Hi,Bought some Ametech Engine Restore from you a few weeks ago and i'm writing to say how pleased and amazed i am with it.
I own a 10 year old Rover Sterling 2.7 with 110,000 miles on clock and the engine used to sound like an old sewing machine tapping away.I was quoted about £500 to replace the hydraulic tappets which i was told would cure the noise. As that is about all the car is worth i didn't bother as the car still drove ok. David, I should think I have covered over 500 miles by now and there is a difference.Idles has dropped by about 200rpm but the engine revs better and  is definetly crisper than before.It is certainly more like my other 164 now. Car in question is an alfa 164 with about 165,00 miles on original engine.Oil consumption will be interesting as they all use a drop.Oil pressure cant comment on as guage is faulty. A well worthwhile exercise for £10 ! regards john

I bought some Restore and after 400 miles it is a huge improvement on my car. The engine was shaking before and missfiring and was blowing smoke.

How long does restore last?  

A noticeable difference in engine performance should be experienced after 500 miles and RESTORE will carry on repairing the engine until the next oil change. 

It is recommended to add RESTORE once a year or at each oil change.

 

HOW MUCH RESTORE SHOULD I USE?   The general measure is one 250 ml can of RESTORE for every litre of engine capacity.

These particles vary between 2micron and 16micron in diameter and find their way to every hot spot and wear point in the engine. I can confirm that Ametech Engine Restore Oil will repair the 'wear' in your oil pressure system. It wont repair leaky oil seals, broken piston rings though. A worn engine has to be mechanically sound  for RESTORE to work it's magic... If you invest in a can for each engine litre,  and run the engine for 1000 miles (or 10hours) you will see the oil pressure slowly climb back to normal (and stay there!). Q: Hi I've just been told my rover needs a new bottom end as its developed a rattle and its supposed to be the crank and bearings,However I would like to know if this treatment will recoat and stop this dammed rattle.It can't be the oil pump as I'm not losing pressure and theres no warning light. regards Dave 20-Jun-06
A: Hi, it is strange that you have a bottom end rattle but the oil pressure is still ok? anyway, assuming you do not have friction reducers (ie SLICK50 Magnatec, Prolong etc) in the oil (they work against RESTORE) then try one litre of AMETECH RESTORE oil asap and hope that there is not too much damage to the shell bearings and crank already. Pour the RESTORE in to the oil filler without overfilling the engine per the dipstick. if you need to lower the oil level you can simply remove the oil filter and empty the oil in an appropriate container and keep to re-use later, this is to make room for the RESTORE oil. Start the engine and 'baby' it for 500 miles, even to the point of leaving the engine running on the driveway. periodically check the temp gauge so you don't burst a water hose (good tip is to turn the heater on full while you do this and open the windows ..) do not exceed 1000 rpm until the noise lessens, and then gently hour by hour bring the rpm up to 1200 rpm etc for a few seconds as the RESTORE copper silver lead particles work their magic, then 1500 rpm. if you hear the rattle then go back to the lower rpm and continue. if the shell bearings were not too badly eroded then RESTORE can eventually repair this engine for £50. If RESTORE is not successful at quieting down the engine in 10hrs or 500 miles, then one or more shell bearings has spun on the crank and must be physically replaced: remove the sump, unbolt the bad conrod brg and replace with fresh shell bearing, replace the sump and refill with oil and RESTORE, and start again from the top ... this is cheaper than an engine rebuild at £2000, or else a good used replacement engine for £300 plus fitting is the way to go. last of all write to tell us how you got on !! thanks  enginerestore
