This is a DVD player that can be used for for upscaling DVD movies for best quality playback on full-HD 1080p TVs. In other words, the XD-E500 converts your standard DVDs from 480p to full 1080p resolution. xDE uses a chipset with parameters specially developed for Toshiba and a combination of user-controlled picture improvement techniques including upconversion, edge enhancement, and color remapping to deliver a new level of near HD video quality from Standard DVDs. It can play DivX, MP3, and WMA files burned on CDs and DVDs and can output DVD in 24 frames per second. This set I have is brand new and never been used before. Will throw in a free USB thumbdrive.
