Excellent bronze scarce coin struck within a set from 1911 to 1936. This coin was coined in Melbourne Mint, though unmarked . To note minor circulation wear and tear. Probably the first Caucasians to see Australia were Portuguese and Spanish navigators of the 16th Century. In 1770 the Captain James Cook explored the East coast and annexed it to Great Britain. Australia is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. Elisabeth II is Head of State as Queen of Australia. British ruled until 1942. Australia's currency system was changed from Pounds-Shillings-Pence to a decimal system of Dollars and Cents on February , 14th, 1966. |
