This is a rare original
British Expeditionary Force Backpack. These vintage surplus lot are all brand new (unused) backpacks, the same as those carried on D-Day by Montgomery's British Expeditionary Force (BEF) assault troops. Made with an extremely resilient cotton hopsack fabric, this 17" H x 12 1/2 W x 5" D pack was manufactured from 1940s and issued as a daypack for transporting rations and gear. 2 detachable shoulder straps attach to sturdy reinforced web loops at top and bottom. Solid brass fixtures. Buckle-down top flap. Authenticated by date stamp and the 'broad arrow' proof mark which, since the 14th century, has been used by the British Crown to identify its property.
Collector militarie gear item is brand new (unused) with slight shelfwear (which is normal for storage items over 60 years); but it is as good as new, and it can function as a robust and fashionable pack for your daily usage. This is one of a kind, rare artifact of WWII militaria. Colour is Khaki.
