This is a Vintage 1920s Thomas Edison VOICEWRITER Ediphone Dictaphone & Cylinders...
This is genuine vintage Thomas Edison VOICEWRITER "Ediphone" dictation machine.
In the 1920's this was the new technology that allows you to speak into the mouthpiece and later listen to what had been recorded for typewritten documentation.
The art of dictation became a thing of the past as more and more professionals began typing their own records directly onto their PC's.
The body of the ediphone is in fair condition.
The electrical cords need replacing, but the motor did hum when we plugged it in...we'll include this new AC plug, but we recommend that the electrical cords be replaced before further testing of the machine.
We cannot test its function as we do not have a usable wax cone...the knobs turn and the machine produces a hum when plugged in!
The mouthpiece horn is missing. It comes with 5 cylinders which holds 5 wax cones...they are in poor condition, but mostly intact.
It comes with 5 wax cones, cases & labels.
The machine measures approximately 30" high and 11" wide x 12" deep. This is a beautiful EDISON machine, but needs a good cleaning and wire repair...this would make a great display in your home or office.
Quite Simply, a Beautiful Piece of EDISON Memorabilia.

This vintage 1920s Thomas Edison Ediphone Dictaphone is Absolutely Authentic, in Fair Condition....a beautiful example of early EDISON.
Since we acquired this EDISON piece, we have stored the cylinders in an acid free sleeve with the machine inside a dark storage room, at 72 degrees, in a smoke free environment...
This is obviously a GREAT FIND for the EDISON Collector...The detail is intricate.....
